Always remembered living in Donnellson and playing Bridge with Florence and Glenwood. Some people always remain in the heart.

Mrs. Long was my first teacher--I was in kindergarden with Miriam. I don't think one ever forgets their first teacher but she was very special. I am so glad that I had her for a role model in my early years. She also was my first piano teacher--I can still see us setting at that piano--and remember the fresh newness of my first Schaum book. I remember the fun youth group parties in the basement. She was the choir director

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Long family at this sad time. Mrs. Long lived her life abundantly and will be remembered as a person who generously loved her family and who served her community with spirit, dedication, and grace. May she rest in peace.

For many years, Florence and I served on Iowa Grand Chapter's Educational Board, awarding thousands of dollars in scholarships to aspiring clergy. She was a dedicated member and I enjoyed her contributions a great deal. May the Lord give you peace as you remember your loved one with warm memories.

When Asa was in 6th Grade at Central, Florence Long, with the true command and elegance of a life-long leader in her community, was the wonderful lady who gave her the certificate for her essay in Donnellson. It was an inspiring moment for us all. Thank you for the good that you have done, Florence Long. We are thinking of your family with love.
Sincerely, May Crowe, Joan Crowe, Asa Crowe, and Andrew Witter

She set the bar high and for being among the greatest of the Iowa ALA Presidents - her gentle, innovative teaching style, her poise, communication, her dedication to the Auxiliary, its protocol and leadership skills were and will long be remembered by those who followed her. I

Dear Miriam,
We send our heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. Your parents were always the most pleasant people and so supportive of The Wooden Pig. We loved seeing them every week and all of our 'kids' enjoyed waiting on them. We missed them after we closed. May they rest in peace.

As another Past Grand Electa, she shared "love one another" in her life. Our sympathy is with her family.
