Those left to honor his memory are his wife Carol. Two sons: Jason (wife Michelle) Fedler of Kernersville, North Carolina, Marcus (wife Heather) Fedler of Ainsworth, Iowa. One daughter Angie (husband Allen) Alcorn of Waterloo, Iowa. Four grandsons: Garrett Fedler, Grayson Fedler, Dylan Alcorn and Jesse Alcorn. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers: Michael, Danny Joe and Melvin.

He was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point. He served his carpenter apprenticeship with Carpenters Union #440. He was a carpenter, state certified welder…his own mechanic, plumber and electrician. He took second place out of sixteen in the Carpenters Union Competition in Sioux City, Iowa. Jerry loved his family above all, his close friends and attending his grandson's sporting and school activities. He farmed all of his life, eventually buying his father's farm. Jerry loved all animals, including his cows, dog Sadie and cat Lucky. He enjoyed target practice, Harley riding, traveling in the United States, carpentry, welding, watching westerns and sports, and napping in his recliner.

Jerry was a wonderful man. You have our heart felt condolences and prayers for the family.

My fondest memory is visiting with Isaac and Jennifer over Christmas when Isaac was still very young... Jerry and the entire family were so welcoming to us and we enjoyed a true family atmosphere on a very special day. We will always hold fond memories in our hearts.

Blessings,

Hello, Carol and family,
While I am saddened by Jerry's sudden death, I an only imagine how you must be feeling. Yet, I keep thinking. "Atta boy, Jerry! What a way to go!" How lucky we have all been to have this good guy in our lives! I'm pretty positive I've never seen a more patient husband listen to his wife reminisce about the good ol' days with her childhood friends, Carol. May memories of the good times you shared with Jerry bring a smile to your lips and a song to your heart when you need it most!

Carol, call me if you need anything. Meanwhile, know Ron and I are thinking of you,

Lorene

My deepest sympathies to Carol, Jason, Marcus and Angie. It's been many years since we lived next to you. I've so enjoyed seeing pictures of the house, the cattle, the dogs, and most of all the family. Hopefully you can find peace in these memories, and soon they will bring smiles back to your faces.
