Andrew A. Fraise, 85, of West Point, Iowa passed away at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Palliative Care Unit at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Born April 26, 1929 the son of Theodore and Viola (Grelk) Fraise. On February 21, 1951 he married Faye P. Mehaffy of Denmark, Iowa at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point, Iowa

Survivors include his wife Faye of sixty four years, two daughters Patricia Fraise of West Point, Iowa and Penny (Dave) Sund of Cedar Falls, Iowa, two sons David Fraise of West Burlington, Iowa and Danny (Cheryl) Fraise of West Point, Iowa, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers Gene (Faye) Fraise of Fort Madison, Iowa and Marvin (Marcia) Fraise of West Burlington, Iowa, one sister Shirley Martin of West Point, Iowa and one sister-in-law Topsy Fraise of Fort Madison, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers Albert "Sonny" and Keith, one brother-in-law Wayne Martin and two daughters-in-law Diana Fraise and Denise Fraise.

Andy served in the U.S. Navy from 1947 to 1951, during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist for IAAP in Middletown, Iowa for twenty three years as well as being a farmer for forty three years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point and a member of the West Point American Legion Holtz-Geers Post #668 for sixty three years. The things in life that he loved most were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Andy enjoyed visiting with friends and family, helping on the farm, going to sale barns for cattle sales and just sitting outside to watch the world go by.

Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in West Point, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. that evening at the funeral home. A parish rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. and a christian wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point with father Dennis Hoffman as celebrant.

Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in West Point with full military honors presented by the West Point Holtz-Geers American Legion Post #668.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory for the Palliative Care Unit at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
