Carolyn S. Morris, 67, of Bonaparte, passed away at 2:14 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016 near Bonaparte.

Born February 14, 1948 at Bonaparte, Iowa the daughter of Louie B. and Bessie E. (Winters) Parker. On June 5, 1966 at Bonaparte, Iowa she married Darrel S. Morris.

Survivors include her husband Darrel of Bonaparte, two sons: Darren Morris and Darrek (Beth) Morris both of Hamilton, Illinois. One daughter Tammie (Jason) Hall of Grinnell, Iowa, Two grandchildren Jaylene and Janae Hall of Grinnell, Iowa. Three brothers: Gary Parker of Douds, Iowa, Ron Parker of Fort Madison, Iowa and Rick Parker of Salem, Iowa. Two sisters: Barb Troutman and Beverly Medaris both of Bonaparte, Iowa. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Louie Jr. and Donald Parker.

Carolyn was a member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church where she sang in the choir taught Sunday School for many years to young children and helped with Bible School in the summer. She had accepted Jesus as her savior as a child. She grew up in Bonaparte and graduated from Harmony High School in 1966. She was employed with the Fairfield Line (formerly Fairfield Glove) in Bonaparte for approximately 25 years. She was then employed by the Harmony School District for 15 years. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of the PEO Chapter AV. She loved to sing hymns; she especially loved her family, family get-togethers, visiting with friends and her grandchildren whom she adored. She was an avid reader and enjoyed putting puzzles together in the winter months. Walking was a favorite past time, as well as yard work and flowers.

Her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
