Delbert W. Boyer, 81, of Donnellson, passed away at 5:07 a.m. Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Donnellson Health Center.

Born February 8, 1933 at Croton, Iowa the son of Glenn E. and Ruth (Pickard) Boyer. On December 28, 1952 at the St Peter's United Church of Christ in Franklin, Iowa he married Lorene Wilson.

Survivors include his wife Lorene of Donnellson, five sons D. David (Chris) Boyer of Ottumwa, Iowa, Jerald (Tina) Boyer of Donnellson, Allen Boyer of Mishawaka, Indiana, Bradley (Tammy) Boyer of Farmington and Bruce (Katie) Boyer of Peoria, Illinois, eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are his brother Dale (Sadie) Boyer of Virginia and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents one brother Robert and one sister Joyce.

Delbert was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Franklin, the Donnellson American Legion Post #474.He served in the United States Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War. He retired as a foreman at the Sheaffer Pen Company. Delbert enjoyed collecting toy tractors, golfing, bowling, woodworking, farming and traveling.

His body has been cremated.

Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson with the family meeting friend from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Bennett officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Donnellson Library Fund or the Fort Madison Food Pantry.
