Edith "Jane" DeRosear, 88, of the Park Place Elder Living in Mount Pleasant, formerly of Farmington, died peacefully on Saturday March 21, 2015.
Born in Farmington, Iowa on April 10, 1926, she was the daughter of Paul Louis and Agnes Reveda Anderson Fotsch. She grew up in the Farmington Community and graduated from the Farmington High School in 1944. After working in the local State Central Bank for two years, she married Verle Vincent DeRosear on October 14, 1946 in the First Methodist Church in Fort Madison, Iowa. She served as Cub Scout den mother, Sunday School teacher in the Farmington United Methodist Church, membership chairman of her church and historian of the PEO Chapter O which she joined in 1945. She was also the bookkeeper for her husband's electrical contracting firm for several years.
Jane and Verle loved traveling in their camper and made many trips to distant locations. They especially enjoyed traveling to the Branson, Missouri area. During these years they were active members of the County Travelers Good Sam Club and made many new friends from the area.
Survivors include three sons: Raymond (Paula) DeRosear of Primrose, Iowa, Ronald (Linda) DeRosear of Bonaparte, Iowa, and Jeffrey DeRosear of Colfax, Wisconsin. Four granddaughters: Jennifer Clay, Anne DeRosear, Kelly DeRosear, Erin DeRosear and their families. Also surviving are Jane's siblings: Charleen Hood, Dorothy Klinkhammer, Wesley Fotsch, Harold Fotsch and their families.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were her husband Verle in 1997, a grandson Pytr James DeRosear, great granddaughter Alyssa Limas and Jane's siblings, Reveda Fotsch, Laverne Fotsch and Paul Fotsch.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday March 25, 2015 at the Farmington United Methodist Church with Pastor Goldie Laymon officiating. Burial will be in the Farmington Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
