Evelyn May Philp Roth Baxter, 87, of the Donnellson Health Center, formerly of Farmington and Fort Madison passed away at 12:33 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Donnellson Health Center.

Born August 12, 1927 in Donnellson, Iowa the daughter of Harry and Luella (Powell) Philp. On May 26, 1946 at the Montrose Methodist Church Parsonage she married Joseph Melvin Roth. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2002. On November 13, 2004 in Fort Madison, Iowa she married Raymond Baxter, he preceded her in death on March 24, 2012.

Survivors include one daughter Janis Ward (Wayne Watson) of Stockport, Iowa, one son Garvin (Julie) Roth of Farmington, Iowa, six grandchildren; Jeff Ward, Eric Ward, Stacey Iverson, Joe Roth, Eli Roth, Jason Roth, one step grandchild, Mike Watson and 11 great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister Delpha Wallingford of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, one brother John Philp of Lewisport, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one son Mickey, two sons and one daughter in infancy, one great grandson and two sisters.

Evelyn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Farmington, a graduate of Argyle High School, she retired from the Shipping Department of Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison, she enjoyed crocheting, traveling, and flowers.

Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington. The family will meet with friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington with Pastor Chad Welch officiating.

Burial will be in the Primrose Cemetery in rural Primrose, Iowa.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
