George Laurence Graham, 59, of Newbury Park, California, formerly of Farmington, Iowa passed away on February 21st, 2015 at his home in California.
 
He was born on March 27th, 1955 in Keosauqua, Iowa to Roy and Paula (McCracken) Graham. On October 28th, 1972, he had his only child, Jennifer Graham.
 
George earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Washington University. After graduating, He worked for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division, and he retired as Department Manager of the Ship Defense and Expeditionary Warfare Department. While there, he was awarded the Meritorious Civilian Service Award, the second highest medal for civilians.
 
George was a sports enthusiast. As an early child, he enjoyed playing on a baseball team created by his father, Roy Graham. Later in life, he won various trophies for martial arts. When he wasn't practicing his martial arts, he enjoyed long hikes in the Santa Monica Mountains.
 
Survivors include the following: his mother, Paula (McCracken) Graham of Fort Madison and his daughter Jennifer Graham of Viela, Florida; his grand-daughter Gabrielle Riley; his three sisters including Teresa Losey of Farmington, Lucinda Graham of Blue Spring, Missouri, and Annette Peitz of West Point; nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Graham.
 
Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Farmington. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Goldie Laymon officiating. The burial will be at Greenglade Cemetery.
 
A memorial has been established for Farmington EMT's and Farmington United Methodist Church.
