Helen Alice Beaty, 97 of Farmington, Iowa passed away at 4:20 a.m. Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Donnellson Health Center.

Born September 12, 1917 in Rock Island, Illinois the daughter of Hanns Henry and Etta Mary Hart Misfeldt. On June 5, 1937 at East Moline, Illinois she married Alvin W. "Bud" Beaty. He preceded her in death July 16, 2007.

Survivors include four sons, Frank (Katherine) Beaty of Farmington, Iowa, David (Katherine) Beaty of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Paul (Peggy) Beaty of Winfield, Iowa and Robert (Rochelle) Beaty of Holcomb, Illinois, three daughters Carol (Harold) Carter of Keosauqua, Iowa, Vicki Hawkins of Keokuk, Iowa and LouAnn (Gary) Glover of Keokuk, Iowa, 23 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, 1 niece and 1 nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons John and Duane and two grandsons.

Helen was a 1935 graduate of Port Byron Illinois High School. She attended the First Baptist Church in Farmington and the Farmington United Methodist Church, she previously worked at the Bridge Café in Farmington, was a member of the Farmington Garden Club and the Wednesday ladies card club. She enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening, cooking , playing cards and family gatherings.

Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington with family meeting friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington with Reverend Chad Welch and Reverend Goldie Laymon officiating. Burial will be in the Blackledge Cemetery in rural Mt. Sterling, Iowa.

A memorial has been established for the Blackledge Cemetery.

Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home of Farmington is assisting the family with arrangements.
