Irma Jean Merschman, 77, of West Point, Iowa passed away at 2:43 a.m., Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Born September 15, 1937 in Lockridge, Iowa the daughter of Alphonse and Christina Catherine (Pomberg) Moeller. On September 1, 1956 she married Delbert C. Merschman at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Houghton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 22, 1997.

Survivors include two daughters Tina (Randy) Faeth of Fort Madison, Iowa and .Rhonda (Don) Fraise of West Point, Iowa, two sons Jerry Merschman of Fort Madison, Iowa and Eric (Pam) Merschman of West Point, Iowa, eight grandchildren Lucas and Marcus Faeth, Heath Merschman, Brent, Kyle and Daryn Fraise, Mya and Dante Merschman, two sisters Sandra Guinn of Des Moines and Tammy Moeller of Sacramento, California, step-mother Mamie Percovick of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Delbert, one son Steven and one brother Donald.

Irma Jean was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point, Iowa, the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a retired Certified Nurses Assistant. She enjoyed playing cards, watching her grandchildren, going to her grandchildren's sporting events, gardening and putting puzzles together.

The family will meet with friends from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in West Point, Iowa. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m. and a Christian Wake Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point with Fr. Dennis Hoffman as Celebrant.

Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in West Point.
