James H. Jiranek, 71, of Farmington, Iowa passed away at 7:14 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Donnellson Health Center in Donnellson, Iowa

Born May 28, 1944 in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of Harvard C. And Orione June (Wilson) Jiranek.

Survivors include one sister, Jill (Mike) Dennis of Farmington, Iowa; two nieces, including Kaitlyn Dennis of Farmington, Iowa; one nephew, Cody Dennis of Farmington, Iowa; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerald "J.R." Jiranek.

Jim was a 1962 graduate of Harmony High School. He attended AIC in Davenport for two years. Jim served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 during the Vietnam War. He worked at Phelon Construction and International Milling in Davenport. Jim most recently worked for Bridge Cafe and Supper Club in Farmington, Iowa.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2015 at Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington, Iowa with Reverend Bill Willis officiating. Full military rites will be presented by the Farmington American Legion Post #231.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his memory. Memorials may be sent to Jill Dennis at P.O. Box 103, Farmington, Iowa, 52626.
