James L. "Goob" Jenkins, 60, of rural Farmington, passed away at 2:56 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 in the emergency room of the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
Born November 24, 1954 in Tucson, Arizona the son of Otis and Martha L. (Maxwell )Jenkins.
Survivors include two daughters Jennette Jenkins of Bonaparte and Julie Creath of Farmington, one son James O. Jenkins of Farmington, seven grandchildren: Jacob (Valerie) Jenkins of Keokuk, Brandon Jenkins of Des Moines, Joriann Davisdon of Farmington, Victoria Jenkins of Marion, Jaelynn Creath of Farmington, Kaitlynn Jenkins of Farmington and James Jenkins, Jr. of Farmington. One great grandson Elijah Jenkins. Also surviving is one brother Tommy Jenkins of Croton one honorary brother Ron McDowell of Farmington and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Perry.
Jim worked as a mechanic at Denly Agri Service in Farmington. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his grandchildren and a cold Busch Lite beer.
Friends may call and meet with the family from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington. Following the visitation his body will be cremated. There will be no formal funeral service.
Memorials may be made to the Farmington EMT's.
