Michael Douglas Saltzgaver, 68, of Bonaparte, Iowa passed away at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015 near Croton, Iowa.

Born September 9, 1946 in Fort Madison, Iowa the son of Hilton and Mildred (Hartrick) Saltzgaver. On April 6, 1995 he married Kathy LeAnn Woods in Farmington, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife Kathy, step-children Carla (Jeff) Wilson of Waukee, Iowa, Kelly Evert of Clive, Iowa and Donnie (Jen) Moline of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin and five grandchildren Emma Wilson, Olivia Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Chloe Evert and Brynn Evert.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike was a Graduate of Harmony High School, he attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri. He retired from the Lee County Conservation as a roadside biologist. Mike was a member of the Farmington American Legion, ATTA Boy Hunt Club and the Mississippi Valley Blues Society. He enjoyed nature, the outdoors, fishing, canoeing, hunting deer, listening to music, socializing with many friends and spending time with his grandchildren.

Friends may call after 12:00 noon Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson with Nancy St. Clair officiating. Full military rites will performed by the Farmington American Legion following the service.

Burial will be held at the Croton Cemetery at a later date.
