Rita Ann Boyer, 56, of rural Farmington, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born June 24, 1958 at Keokuk, Iowa the daughter of Norman and Helen Young Wall. On June 7, 1980 near Donnellson she married Greg Boyer.

Survivors include her husband Greg of Farmington, one daughter Hattie Boyer of Farmington, one son Franklin (Debbie) Boyer of Bloomfield, Iowa, one grandson Talon, her mother Helen Wall of Donnellson, two sisters Norma (Raymond) Case of Farmington and Janis (Robert) Davidson of Farmington. Also surviving are her mother-in-law Rosemary Boyer of Franklin and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Norman and her brother Larry.

Rita was a 1977 graduate of Central Lee High School, she enjoyed feeding birds, barbecuing, playing yard games and board games. Most of all she was happy to be grandma and to care for her grandson. Rita was an organ donor. The family wishes to thank the medical staff of the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics for their care of Rita this past week following her brain aneurism.

Friends may call from noon to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorial contributions be made to the Donnellson Library Building Fund.
