Robert Earl Kite, 51, of Farmington, Iowa, passed away at 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, Iowa.

Born December 23, 1962 in Keokuk, Iowa the son of Otis James, Sr. and Bessie Mae (Hatfield) Kite. In June of 1986 he married Cathy Marie Halboth in Bonaparte, Iowa. They were the parents of two children and later divorced.

Survivors include one son Timothy Kite of Farmington, Iowa, one daughter Alison Kite of Theodosia, Missouri, his mother Bessie Kite of Farmington, Iowa, two grandchildren Tori and Blake Kite, four brothers Otis (Teresa) Kite, Jr. of Bonaparte, Iowa, Lloyd (Linda) Kite of Bonaparte, Iowa, Joe (Kim) Kite of Farmington, Iowa and Gerald (Diane) Kite of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, two sisters Cyrillis Kite of Farmington, Iowa and Brenda (Joe) Cochran of Farmington, Iowa, special friend Millie Pruett and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Otis Kite, Sr. one brother Roger Kite and his grandparents.

Robert enjoyed mule riding, four wheeler riding and spending time with his family.

Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington, Iowa where the family will meet with friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening.

Following the visitation Robert's body will be cremated.

Burial will be held at a later date at the Croton Cemetery, Croton, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made in his memory and may be mailed to Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home, P.O. Box 56, Donnellson, Iowa 52656
