Russell E. Wellington, 95, of Farmington, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Donnellson Health Center.

Born August 17, 1920 at New London, Iowa the son of John H. and Versa L. (Goins) Wellington. On May 30, 1957 at Monmouth, Illinois he married Martha Rosella Dietsch. She preceded him in death on August 3, 2006.

Survivors include two daughters; Gail Wellington of Coralville, Iowa and Debbie (Roy) Rogers of Fremont, Ohio. Three sons: John Wellington of Farmington, Iowa, Randy (Linda) Jacobs of Helena, Ohio and Steven Jacobs of Oakwood, Ohio. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Martha, one grandson Chris Rogers, two brothers and one sister.

Russell was a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran and a member of the Farmington American Legion Post #231. Russell retired in 1974 as a heating and cooling general contractor. He enjoyed fishing, sewing, camping, watching hummingbirds, reading western books and walking his dog "Princess" in Farmington.
His body has been cremated.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Greenglade Cemetery in Farmington with Rob Radosevich officiating. There will be full military rites by the Farmington American Legion Post #231.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
