Ruth B. Myhre, 82, of Donnellson, Iowa passed away at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Donnellson Health Center.

Born December 25, 1932 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Albert and Berniece (Cox) Varner. On September 1, 1951 she married Gene Myhre in Kahoka, Missouri.

Survivors include her husband Gene, one son Dan (Debbie) Myhre of Montrose, Iowa, one daughter Diana (George) Smith of Fort Madison, Iowa, four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one brother Paul (Jaquie) Varner of Phoenix, Arizona, three sisters Ina (Rex) Owenby of Vero Beach, Florida, Rhoda (Hal) Newell of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and Eunice (Frank) Nolte of Fort Madison, Iowa, and one sister-in-law Beverly (Chuck) Brooks of Cave Creek, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.

Ruth worked at Bob's Food Center in Donnellson, Iowa and Dollar General in Fort Madison, Iowa. She attended Bethel Bible Church. She enjoyed baking cookies for others, playing music at area nursing homes and events, writing letters, and visiting area nursing homes.

Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Bethel Bible Church in rural Argyle with Pastor Jamey Stout officiating.

Burial will be held at the Evangelical Cemetery in Donnellson following the service.

Memorials may be made for Bethel Bible Church.
