Genevieve "Topsy" Fraise, 89, of Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Fort Madison, Iowa, formerly of Donnellson, Iowa, passed away at 3:43 a.m. Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital in Fort Madison, Iowa.

Born January 9, 1926 in Donnellson, Iowa, the daughter of Jacob and Mattie Mary (Long) Schlicher. In 1946, she married Albert Fraise. He preceded her in death in 1951. On July 28, 1954, she married Keith Fraise. He preceded her in death on March 1, 2013.

Survivors include one son, Steve (Debbie) Fraise of Montrose, Iowa; three daughters, Janet Clarkson of Fort Madison, Iowa, Sandy (Mike) Smith of Marengo, Iowa, and Sara (Gary) Sandburg of Fort Madison, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Tony (Dena) Fraise of Donnellson, Iowa, Tom Ruble of Donnellson, Iowa, Anne (Scott) Robinson of Concord, North Carolina, Jason Ruble of Fort Madison, Iowa, Shawna (Hadyn) Horsford of Westbury, New York, Matt (Cindy) Smith of West Des Moines, Iowa, Marcus Smith of Westbury, New York, Robert Sandburg of Fort Madison, Iowa, and Ellen (Levi) Campbell of Burlington, Iowa; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one great-grandson Thomas Ruble; three sisters, Magdelena Proenneke, Josephine Wilson, and Elizabeth Harrelson; six brothers, Louis "Jack", Charles, Albert, Earl, James, and Frank Schlicher; and two brothers in infancy.

Following her high school graduation, Topsy worked at Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison, Iowa. After many years of managing the home, she worked for Pilot Grove Savings Bank (previously known as Citizens State Bank) in Donnellson, Iowa for 21 years, retiring in 1991. Topsy enjoyed tending to her rose bushes, going to the races, and shopping. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, including cooking Sunday dinners for them which they especially looked forward to.

Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson, Iowa where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. that evening.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral in Donnellson with Father Dennis Hoffman officiating.

Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in West Point.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
