Robert R. "Bob" Cashman, 73, of Quincy, Illinois formerly of Nauvoo, passed away at 10:43 a.m. Sunday, November 8, 2015 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Born May 24, 1942 in Beverly, Massachusetts the son of Harland James Sr. and Ethel (Carson) Cashman. On August 1, 1964 he married Melody Clark in Orion, Illinois.

Survivors include his wife; Melody of Quincy, Illinois, one daughter; Cindy (Jeff) Hendrickson of Keokuk, Iowa, two sons; John (Tracy) Cashman of Chatham, Illinois and Bill Cashman of Nauvoo, Illinois, six grandchildren; Tyler and Aaron Hendrickson, Ellie, Emily and Alex Cashman and Cole Cashman; two brothers; Jim Cashman of Reeds Springs, Missouri and Rod (Sharon) Cashman of Orion, Illinois and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother William.

Bob was a graduate of Orion High School and Western Illinois University. He was a teacher and coach at the Nauvoo Colusa High School and then worked for the State of Illinois Department of Natural Resources. He retired in 2001 as the Site Superintendent for the Nauvoo State Park. Bob was a member of the Nauvoo United Methodist Church where he served on the church council as president for over twenty years. He was a member of the Nauvoo Lions Club, trustee of the Nauvoo Township for many years, served on the Nauvoo Fire Department, was a Scout leader, a Webelo leader in Nauvoo and an Alpha Phi Omega fraternity member. Bob enjoyed collecting Watt pottery, collecting baseball cards, traveling and his grandchildren and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Nauvoo United Methodist Church in Nauvoo, Illinois where family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Nauvoo United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Hendrickson officiating.

Burial will be at the Nauvoo City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his memory for the Nauvoo United Methodist Church.
