Luella Veronica Dingman, 95, of West Point, Iowa passed away at 1:43 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 at the West Point Care Center.

Born January 27, 1917, in Houghton, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Sieren) Conrad. She married Edward L. Dingman on January 27, 1941 at St. John's Catholic Church in Houghton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1996.

Survivors include two daughters Betty (Bill) Anderson of Gambrills, Maryland, Kate (Timm) Lamb of Fort Madison, Iowa, three sons Larry (Vicky) Dingman of Iowa City, Iowa, Mike (Marcia) Dingman of St. Charles, Illinois, Dan (Cathy) Dingman of Fort Madison, Iowa, ten grandchildren Toni and David Dingman, Erica and Bill Anderson, Josh Dingman and Jessica (Dingman) McIntyre, Patrick, Kevin and Jeff Lamb and Tyler Dingman, twelve great-grandchildren, two sisters Mary Ann Poepsel of Iowa City, Iowa and Florence Stillman of Oregon and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, two sisters and four brothers.

Luella was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point, Iowa and a past member of St. John's Catholic Church in Houghton. She was a member of St. Ann's Circle Daughters of Isabella, the Altar and Rosary Society. Luella volunteered at the West Point Care Center and the Marquette Catholic Schools. She enjoyed playing cards, qulting, cooking, traveling and visiting with people.

Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in West Point, Iowa where a Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. The family will meet with friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home with a Christian Wake Service being held there at 6:30 p.m. that evening.

Her body will be cremated following the visitation.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 27, 2012 at the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point with Father Dennis Hoffman as celebrant.

Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in West Point, Iowa.

A memorial has been established in her memory to the St. Mary's Catholic Church or West Point Care Center.
